Glitzy Fox Studios’ terms of service (updated 2/2/2023)

Communication

You may contact us via Telegram (@glitzyfox), Twitter, Instagram, or Email. Inquiries can be sent to glitzyfoxstudiosteam@gmail.com. Please use the social links on this page or on our home page to reach out to us if you do not prefer Email. We will respond within 48 hours unless there is an emergency. All agreements that are made electronically are binding. 

Quality Disclaimer

We are not capable of symmetry or perfection. Multiple members of our team have medical diagnoses including neurological issues, wrist/dexterity issues, and vision problems that may lead to unfixable mistakes. If you are not 100% satisfied, please contact us. We are willing to accept returns and or refunds if you are not happy :)

  • Please report all fit issues we are still learning! We are, however, happy to discuss any fit issues. A lot of the time these are out of our control and caused by errors in the duct tape dummy. However, we will always fix what we can for you.

  • If you have complex thin markings, we suggest you learn to sew if you do not want to pay to ship the suit out. However, you do get one free mending/care/touch-up each year!

  • We put our heart into EVERY project, so please be kind and patient with us.

  • You can expect some imperfections in fur symmetry and gluing. We are doing our best. We consider defects to be any visible rips, tears, or elements that affect the wearer’s comfort. We will work alongside you as much as possible to ensure that you are happy with your suit.

  • We ask that customers contact us within 30 days of receiving their item to report any issues.

Denial of Service: 

Glitzy Fox Studios reserves the right to deny customer service for any reason within compliance with the law. We are not obligated to disclose the reason for rejection to the customer. Reasons that your project may be denied include but are not limited to:

  • You are under the age of 18.

  • You are unreasonable or threatening.

  • Your character design is too complex.

  • Your character is offensive or represents hate symbols, bigotry, transphobia, or racist attitudes.

  • Your character is considered culturally appropriative or expresses themes that may be sensitive or controversial. 

  • You are rude to other fursuit makers or have been denied by makers for any listed reason.

  • You have a history of illegal actions and interests.

  • You support pedophilia or zoophilia.

PAYMENT & SHIPPING

Payment Policies

  • All payments are processed through Paypal or Square so that Glitzy Fox Studios and customers are protected. Full payments will be processed through Square, while payment plans will be processed through Paypal.

  • We reserve the right to cancel and refund clients fully at any point in the process. This can be due to either an issue on the client's or the team’s side.

Payment Plan Policies (via Paypal only)

We understand that fursuits are expensive and do not want you to struggle with finances. Once your commission is approved, we will send you an invoice contained in a link so that payments can be completed at any given time.

  • 40% of your project total is required upon the acceptance of your commission. This shall not be refundable after 3 months.

  • As of 2023, all PayPal payment plans have an additional transaction fee of 3% of the total to offset additional fees incurred by processing multiple payments

  • Suits are worked on in order of who has paid off the most. People who pay in full or pay off faster than you WILL pass your spot in line. However, they will not pass you in your year bracket. No one is exempt from this rule and can be affected even if new slots are opened. 

  • There are no due dates. You pay as you want with the following conditions/rules

    • The total price must be paid off before we ship your item

    • You must pay your suit off within 1 year unless we agree to something otherwise.

  • You consent to have your payment progress made public on Trello.

  • It is unlikely your items will be worked on before being fully paid off. So don’t wait for an update from us to pay.

  • If you do not pay your suit off within the agreed-upon time, you will get no refund and no item. (extenuating circumstances will be considered)

Cancellations

We understand that life happens and that you may need to cancel your commission. After 3 months, we retain the right to refuse a refund for the 40% deposit. However, we will decide on these on a case-to-case basis. Usually, we are willing to accommodate full refunds at any time if expensive custom-run items were not made. However, this is at our discretion.

Shipping

  • Shipping is not included in the quoted price of an item and the original invoice. Customers will be charged the amount that it costs to ship the item and for packing materials. 

  • A receipt and tracking number will be provided electronically upon shipment. We are not responsible for damage that occurs during transport or lost packages. However, we are willing to work with you to find a solution and remedy the situation.

  • Insurance is required on all items. Insurance must be paid for by the buyer and can range from $20-60. The average cost of shipping in the US for a Partial Suit is $90 including insurance. The average cost of shipping in the US for a Full Suit is $150 including insurance. 

  • Attention International Customers! You will be charged appropriately for a customs fee (upwards of $500-1,000 USD). We must state the full value of your item on the customs form to legally ship it, so it is your responsibility to pay the fee. Do not ask us to claim the value at $0 USD. If you are not willing to pay the customs fee, we will deny customer service to you. Please be aware of your country's mailing laws and policies to avoid legal issues. Thank you for understanding and we will not be offended if you commission another maker due to this.

Quotes are given only via our store (when open) and via Patreon.

Updates and Completion Time:

  • We are a team but only have 3 builders in the workshop and are fairly slow. We work 5/7 days a week. We post daily updates on our Telegram channel and inform customers when we decide to take the day off. 

  • When you get a slot, you will be given an estimated completion time prior to payment- it will be a year, not a month. We do not work under strict deadlines to lower stress amongst our team. Items are typically completed as scheduled unless the customer requests changes or add-ons. 

  • Clients given a year date in the latter half of the year may fall back into the prior year.

Slots Openings & the Queue:

Customers must get a slot to purchase an item from us. The queue/waitlist is tracked via our public trello. Customers who have completed all payments and Patrons are prioritized. We reserve the right to reorder the queue as we see fit. We will ensure that changes do not affect completion times.

  • Normal Slot Opening (rare): We announce these on Twitter and Instagram. Customers are required to fill out the quote form and then we will choose which projects to accept. All eligible customers will be notified via email on a specified date and time. The first customers to respond will get slots.

  • Patreon Slot Openings: Exclusive slots are offered to our Patreon supporters.

  • Convention Slot Opening: We may accept up to two commissions from convention attendees.

  • Upgrade Slot: Customers who make a purchase prior to November 2021 are given access to the queue. They can commission us in the future for personal projects or for upgrades on their current suit.

  • Auction Slot (rare): Slots auctioned via Dealers Den.

  • Raffle Slot: We offer a free fursuit head once a year that will be raffled around our anniversary.

WARRANTY & SAFETY

Allergies & Materials

It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Glitzy Fox Studios of any materials that they are allergic to. We the following materials: Flex-Foam IT III (expanding foam), neoprene, lycra/spandex, resin, hot glue, plastics, and faux fur.

We have animals in the same building as our workshop, including a service dog that is sometimes in the workshop itself.

Warranty

  • Products are guaranteed for 60 days. If you encounter any issues, you can send your item back to us for repairs.

  • Glitzy Fox Studios is not responsible for any damage that the customer does to their suit including water damage, or modification.

  • Modifying your suit may void your warranty. Please ask before you do this.

  • All suits come with a 1-year warranty. This does not include replacing damaged fur. You are more than welcome to send your suit back for a touch-up. Minor touch-ups are free, but we do charge for other services. Cleaning starts at $50 for a head and $150 for a Full Suit. Shipping is paid by the client.

  • As of 2023 we no longer repair ANY broken electrical components in suits. The warranty does not cover these items.

  • Selling an item to a third party will void your warranty.

Safety, Injury & Technology

Glitzy Fox Studios is not responsible for injuries inflicted while using our products. Any damage that occurs to the customer while wearing our suits is the fault of the customer. 

Fans and LED lights may be installed in suits. You are required to use these responsibly and practice the following safety measures:

  • Using electronic devices for a maximum of 30 minutes. Allowing all devices to cool down for an hour after use.

  • Not tampering with or modifying any electronic devices.

  • Wearing protective headgear (a balaclava will be provided to you) and Under Armour under your Full Suit.

MISCELLANEOUS

Privacy Policy

We retain the right to use the personal information you provide us to ensure you are not violating our terms (see Denial of Service). This may include reviewing your social media pages. Appropriate action will be taken if your actions are not in accordance with the law. We will never use your information for anything other than to contact you, fulfill your order, and ship it to you. We retain the right to post your payment status on Trello.

Intellectual Property

You may not deconstruct or replicate our head bases or other parts. Parts used for eyes and paws are licensed by Glitzy Fox Studios, but all rights belong to artists we have commissioned. This is our intellectual property.

Ideals

The ideals reflected and actions taken by Glitzy Fox Studios do not reflect the personal opinions of its customers or team members. Likewise, the actions or opinions of our customers do not reflect those of the company. 

Telegram Channel & Discord

As of September 2021, our Telegram channel is only available to customers and Patrons. You will be given a link to join when you commission us. Please be respectful and avoid inciting arguments, creating drama, using profane or offensive language, or behaving inappropriately toward the staff, customers, or Patrons. Failure to comply will result in your removal from the channel. Do not expect a strictly professional environment. Those who wish to only receive updates may be invited to a separate channel.
