NOTE: THIS PAGE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. We are still compiling information on how to best care for fursuits. We recommend checking out this website here for more in depth information!

Extra Suit features:
-Fans that circulate air. You can find the battery pack in a pocket inside the head. This can be charged.
-Magnetic Hair. The hair can be removed from the suit with force. Watch your fingers as these magnets when reconnecting can be strong!
-Velcro eyelids. Remove these carefully!

Big Nonos that void your warranty:
1. Please be careful with the eyelids. They are not made to be ripped on and off for the sake of gags or jokes, so please be gentle about switching them out.
2. Heat is the enemy! Never leave suit in direct sunlight, in a hot car outside of a tote, or putting intense heat on any party of the suit. Do not put your suit in a dryer or use a hair dryer that uses heat. Cold air is okay.
3. Please be careful with the Nose. Never pick your suit up by the nose. Do not drop the nose on the ground or run into things. The nose WILL chip.
4. Beware of Chemicals. Do not use fabric softener, bleach, febreeze or essential oils on your suit. Be careful how much fursuit spray you use. We recommend sprays from Pinku’s Crafty Cottage and Soapy Pony. Use sparingly.

How to make your suit last as long as possible.
1. Wear the right clothing under your suit (you should be wearing under armor or similar - examples Top & Bottom) and a balaclava with the head at all times. To get a new balaclava you may buy one by contacting Glitzy or buying from our store if its up. We have provided at least one for your use with your suit. You should be wearing socks.
2. Wash your suit but only when necessary.
3. Disinfect the head lightly and carefully.
4. Store your Suit correctly. You may hang up the bodysuit or place it in the provided bag. Do not leave it in a tote after con without airing out.
5. Be gentle Putting the suit on if you have complex markings.
6. Learn to make minor repairs. Learn the ladder stitch and blanket stitch and you can fix any tears. [Tutorial for stitching]
7. Very gently brush the suit and the head before and after each wear. Go with the direction of the fur only!

Putting on the suit

1. Put on proper sweat whicking clothing. On your body you should be wearing Under Armor or something similar. This keeps sweat and friction off of the back of the fur. Fur backing can become damaged over time!
1. Put the tail on a belt using the loops at the base of the tail.
2. Feed/pull the ends of the belt through the whole in the back of the bodysuit and put the bodysuit on.
3. Zip the bodysuit up.
4. Get the feet on snugly and zip into them. Sometimes you have to wiggle your feet to get into the right pocket comfortably. Don't panic if this is hard the first few times. When taking the suit off you may choose to leave the feet attached.
5. Put the balaclava/ski mask ok your head. You may choose to pull it above or below your chin. We expect you to wear a balaclava with the fursuit head. This is to protect both your skin, as well as the interior of the fursuit. :)
5. Put the head on. The head has an adjustable velcro strap if it's too loose or tight. Your chin can rest In the mouth or against the inside of the neck. Zip the back of the head up. Don't worry you will get used to the zipper as you break it in. Minor discomfort is normal when wearing a fursuit. However pain or inability to see or breathe should be reported immediately to glitzyfox.
6. Put the paws on. You are meant to put 2 fingers into 1 paw finger wherever it's comfortable.

Washing your Suit

Sanitizing the head
1. Should be done at the end of a day of fursuiting.
2. Unzip the back of the head and lay it facing down
(Picture)
3. Purchase a spray bottle, isopropyl alcohol, and a small fan.
4. Pour the alcohol into the bottle and dilute it to 60-70% by adding water.
5. Avoiding the backs of the eyes, spritz the inside of the head. Just a few squirts should do. Then if you have a fan point it in there to blow away any fumes.
6. Let the head air out untill dry.

Washing the head
Do not submerge in water. We do not recommend washing the outside of the head unless you absolutely have to. However, if you do decide to wash the outside we recommend using a green machine. Additionally, once per year you may pay to ship your head to Glitzy for repairs or touch ups. This is a part of your warranty.

Washing the feet:
Do not submerge in water.
Must be done using a Green Machine. Coming Soon.

Spot Cleaning Stains and Problem areas using Folex Carpet Cleaner

Folex brand carpet cleaner can be used to spot clean a fursuit, or brighten up whites.
Some things to note before you begin:

1. You cannot use this on parts where you have airbrush. It will take of some if not all of the airbrush.

2. Build up of folex can be bad for the fur. I recommend rinsing.

3. I don't guerantee anything. This is just how I use this method. Try at your own risk and I accept no liability.

4. Friction is still bad for suits, so be gentle when agitating the fur.

Step One. Prep.

Get folex brand spray, paper towels, a fine toothed comb. I use a flea comb.

Step Two. Apply Product and Agitate ( do this fast, you get about 30 seconds)

Spray the folex on the spot you want to treat. Don't over spray. 1-2 squirts at a time.

Lather the folex over the area with your finger and agitate it. It should look a little sudsy.

Then take a fine toothed comb and use it to agitate the product on the fur. It should look like this. >>>

Step Three. Absorb

Take paper towels. I'd buy the good kind that are ultra absorbent for best results. And blot the treated area. You want all the folex and grime to come up into the paper towel.

Step four. Spray water or dab water on the the area to clear any remaining folex.

Step five: let dry and feel it to ensure there has not been any damage before repeating.
